Social analytics are an important set of data used to identify your customers and their favourite content and highest converting traffic. Analytics helps you see how effective your content or ads are; so it's important to be able to understand. There are so many metrics, some of which are more important than others. Here's some of the main ones you need to know:
- Conversions
- Clicks
- Leads generated
- Engagement
- Reach
- Impressions
- Audience growth rate
- CPM (advertising)
- Cost per conversion (advertising)
Ultimately, the number one metric is likely to be conversions. Conversions measure the action on your goal, and this is what we are after! Buffer goes into more detail about social metrics and why you need to understand them - we recommend reading!
Top tip: Track and optimise as you go
When utilising paid social ads, social analytics must be closely tracked. Unlike organic social analytics, paid ones are costing you money! Therefore, knowing your social analytics inside out every day can allow tweaks to be made to ads, content and so on, all helping to improve your ROI.
