How to Holiday

You want and need a holiday, but we know it's not easy. As the head honcho, MD or small business owner, we understand as much as anyone that it's hard to allow yourself time off, let alone actually book and keep to your planned break!

A 2014 survey found that the average employee only uses 77% of their annual leave, and almost half do some work whilst on holiday. We all know that time off is good for our own physical and mental health, as well as helping us come back to work refreshed and reenergised. However, putting the laptop and mobile down for a week, is even better for us!

Psychology Today reported a study which showed that taking a holiday and active leisure pursuits helped to improve stress levels of lawyers. Researcher Scott McCabe added that;

"Personal benefits have been found to include: rest and recuperation from work; provision of new experiences leading to a broadening of horizons and the opportunity for learning and intercultural communication; promotion of peace and understanding; personal and social development; visiting friends and relatives; religious pilgrimage and health; and, subjective wellbeing."
